Hi guys! I hope you’ve had a great week. My apologies I haven’t been able to blog the last several days, I’m currently in Georgia (the country!) to get to know their 8,000-year-old wine culture (yes, they are the oldest wine producing region in the world!), and likewise their beautiful country, with Taste Georgia (they organize fabulous experiences and tours from dinners with winemakers to cooking classes to day trips to the wine regions of Kakheti and Kartli- and loads more!), National Wine Agency and the Tourism Board of Georgia. Georgia has always been one of my dream destinations to visit, so I’m so happy to be here! It’s also on the cusp of tourism explosion- Vogue US has been publishing articles naming it a must-visit destination for 2017. And after spending 5 days here, I highly agree!
My period of visit also happens to be during New Wine Festival, which took place today. And in line with this, there were pocket wine events teeming around the city. I tell you, wine here is the way of life- and more and more now, the world is discovering Georgian wine. (Just so you know, over 500 of the world’s grape varieties can be found here!) I can’t wait to share with you all my discoveries and adventures- we’ve been wining all day and night- literally- tough life! But in the meantime, snippets of my trip are posted daily Instagram @chertiu (Don’t forget to watch my stories- that’s where all the action is!!), Facebook @cheryltiu1111 and Twitter @cheryltiu– so don’t forget to follow or like my accounts! xx
