(*Updated August 6, 2018)
New York’s famous Magnolia Bakery will officially be opening in Manila, Philippines on August 22, 2018– as M Bakery.
What we know so far is that it will be located at the Lower Ground Floor of One Bonifacio, High Street Mall— right across Toby’s Estate and Kerry Sports Shangri-La Fort’s entrance. It is being brought into the country by Stewart Ong of Phil Jacobe Ventures.
Magnolia Bakery opened its first branch in 1996 in NYC’s West Village. It shot to fame after a 30-second clip in Sex and The City where Carrie and Miranda were eating cupcakes outside the store.
The Manila branch will be serving Magnolia favorites, of course the cupcakes and cakes, as well as the banana pudding, brownies, lemon cakes, muffins and blueberry-flavored desserts. We are looking forward! xx
*Update: And on August 6, I received a delivery of a fresh batch of goodies from M Bakery– cupcakes, red velvet cake, and sea salt caramel chocolate chunk cookies, and the verdict is… they do taste exactly as they do in New York’s Magnolia Bakery– fine, delicate and delicious! xx
